Everything is Awesome at the Lowry House...

Ethan Blake Lowry is doing great and growing like a weed... This past Wednesday (his 2 week birthday) Ethan went to see Dr. Salem, his pediatrician, and she said he was perfect. He is 21.5 inches long, and 8 pounds 2 ounces. Aside from the doctors office, everything is great on the home front. Ethan is getting baths, taking family pictures, eating, sleeping, and using the restroom. Ethan is definitely the most incredible thing Leah and I have ever seen. BTW his little umbilical stump has now fallen off so we got our first look at his cute belly button...

Great weekend with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts, and Cousins...

Ethan was a busy little man this weekend... First of all on Saturday, Granny, Poppa, Aunt Coco, Unc Chris, Cousin Ella, Great Aunt Doris, and Great Aunt Darla all came over to visit the little guy. It was also special because it was the first time for Little Ethan and Little Ella to meet each other... They are only 4 months apart and they are going to grow up together... Granny and Poppa brought over Steaks and Sweet potatoes for dinner and we enjoyed a wonderful fun filled day of cooking eating and visiting with family. On Sunday Granddad and Memaw came over and they brough us an Oreck Vacume cleaner to improve our carpets and to improve the air quality in the house. We enjoyed a good day with them as well. Granddad is a truck driver and he is headed out on a run, so he wanted to visit and hold Ethan before he had to go. All in all it was a wonderful weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed having our closest family over...

Memaw This Week...

Memaw AKA Leah's mom has been a tremendous help this week as she has helped us wash clothes, cook dinner, sterilize breast feeding equipment and bottles, general cleaning and various other tasks around the house. Thank you Memaw and We love you...

Toby and Ethan... Living in Harmony

A couple of posts back I mentioned the dogs and how they are being a little displaced by the new baby in the family. Well Mister Toby is taking full advantage of the bassinet in our room at night; he is treating it as a cave of sorts. He really enjoys sleeping under something where it is really dark so this suits him perfectly.... I do believe he is taking his lemons and making his lemonade.

Sleep Sleep and More Sleep...

Little Ethan is just like his dad. He sure does like to sleep but he seems to want to sleep at all the wrong times. Ethan is supposed to feed every two to three hours. Only problem is, Ethan wants to sleep when he is supposed to be eating, and on this same note, Ethan likes to Be awake when his parents are supposed to be sleeping... I will say one thing, It is all worth it. Ethan is Beautiful!!!

Baby Welness Check...

Today was Ethan's first baby wellness check. He did an awesome job... He has a strong heart, strong lungs, and definitely a strong GI tract... In the hospital he had just a tad of jaundice, but no not so much that he had to be place under the photo therapy lights, and the doctors have been monitoring that; today the doctor ordered one more test for the jaundice. The results came back low risk but the doctor said that it would help if we placed him in front of an open window so he could soak up some sun. He thoroughly enjoyed it this morning.

On a different note, the dogs are a little jealous but they are adjusting pretty well... All three dogs are used to sitting with Leah in the afternoons but they have sort of been replace by a 7 pounder...

This morning was fun...

Ethan was a bit fussy so we decided he might need to have his diaper changed. Well we have been trying to figure out how too keep little man from peeing all over the wall behind him when we take his diaper off. This morning around 5:30 I was changing the diaper and forgot about the water cannon that he holds in his diaper. Needless to say he shot warm pee all over our freshly washed bed sheets. Leah ended up sleeping on the recliner and Ethan and I decided we were going to take refuge on the sofa... I do believe I am going to keep that little thing covered up from now on.

The Biggest Little News in Our Lives...

On 03-11-09 at 4:59PM, The Lord Blessed Leah and I with a perfectly healthy baby boy named Ethan Blake Lowry. He tipped the scales at 7 pounds and 7 Ounces, and was 19 3/4 inches long. I know this has to be the most incredible event that I have ever seen in my life. Leah was absolutely perfect during the labor and she only had to push for a little over 30 minutes to deliver Ethan. I am super proud of her!!! We brought Ethan home today (Friday), and already life feels completely different for the two of us. Leah Just got done feeding Ethan. When she was done, I burped him for a minute, changed his diaper, rocked him to sleep, and layed him down in the bassinette. It is now 2:00 AM and we will have to do all of this in another hour because she started feeding him at 12:00 AM. Pretty crazy because these things eat every two to three hours... Well I better sign off for now but here are some pictures for you to enjoy of our new bundle of joy... He is a Blessing from GOD and truly incredible...

37 Weeks and 5 Days... We can't wait...

Well it is getting close, we are currently at 37 weeks and 5 days. Little Ethan is still baking and the doctor told us today that Leah is looking great. We finally got finished with the room. Today I put the finishing touch on the baby room.

My mom bought us some letters that spell out Ethan, so I painted them red and hung them on the wall. Also my sister took some maternity pictures of Leah and I and for our baby shower she printed some out for us and placed them in a nice frame. I hung this right outside of Ethan's room.
We are getting anxious and we can't wait to meet our little guy, I know he will be awesome.
